Running in the Amazon Web Services Cloud
Secure and Highly Available
Slate runs in the Amazon Web Services cloud, utilizing a multi-availability zone and multi-region deployment for high availability and disaster recovery. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the institution may elect for data to reside exclusively in the United States, Canada, or the European Union, as may be required for local compliance.
The Common Application
Slate has a direct and automated data and document integration with The Common Application. More institutions feed their data and documents into Slate than into all other systems combined, including student information systems, document management systems, and CRMs.
The Coalition Application
Slate has a direct and automated data and document integration with the application by the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success. The majority of Coalition members feed all of their data and documents into Slate.
Slate can directly load data and documents from CAS applications such as AMCAS, CASPA, LSAC (ACES), PharmCAS, PTCAS, SOPHAS, and VMCAS, as well as state application services such as ApplyUC and ApplyTexas.
Student Information Systems
Slate institutions have bi-directional integrations with Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft, PowerCampus, Jenzabar, and other systems, including homegrown and mainframe systems. Slate integrates with middleware platforms, including Axiom, iData, and Constituo.
Document Management Systems
While Slate institutions use Slate for their admissions document management, Slate has been integrated with campuswide document management systems where all documents for all applicants, or a subset of documents for a particular cohort (such as just enrolling students), may be sent on an automated schedule. These systems include OnBase, ImageNow, Nolij, and Banner Document Management (BDM) / Xtender, among others.
Score Data Providers
Slate provides built-in integrations with score data file providers including ACT, AP, GMAT, GRE, IELTS, SAT, and TOEFL, and many more.
Slate provides a built-in video essay and video interviewing platform, and Slate has integrations with Duolingo, InitialView, Vericant, and Vidcruiter, etc.
Slate provides a built-in payment processing platform, Slate Payments, that can be used to accept payments by credit card, debit card, or electronic check. Slate additionally has direct integrations with Authorize.Net, CASHNet, CyberSource, DiamondMind, FlyWire/PeerTransfer, Higher One NetPay, Moneris, Nelnet Commerce Manager, Nelnet QuickPay, Official Payments/ACI, Payflow Link, Payflow Pro, TMS Link, TouchNet Ready/TLink, and Virtual Merchant/Elavon/Converge.
Slate supports logins for administrative users as well as end-users, if desired, via institutional single sign-on services, including SAML / Shibboleth / ADFS, CAS, and LDAP / LDAPS.
Slate can function as an identity provider for on-campus systems to authenticate applicants using their Slate credentials, using CAS or RESTful API endpoints.
Slate supports end-user authentication via social networks, including Google (as well as Google Apps / G Suite), Facebook, and LinkedIn.
