Career Opportunities at Technolutions

We are actively seeking curious and creative individuals to join our growing team of program managers. Here's who we are and what we do:

Colleagues might describe you as technically-minded

We know you know Word and PowerPoint. You've probably even made a pivot table or two in your time. You might not know SQL, Javascript, or HTML, but that doesn't mean you're not open to learning. Above all, you know that technology is only part of the solution. But, when it comes to that part, you've got some hands-on experience to bring to the table…or keyboard.

You'd describe yourself as process-oriented

You may or may not be writing code in your sleep, but we do imagine that you sometimes dream about making life better. You translate, you migrate, and you rehydrate processes that have long run dry. “The box” was something you thought outside of when you finished college (at least three years ago); the only boxes in your immediate future have either New Haven or Portland written all over them. You solve. You evolve. You know there's always more than one way to get things done.

You're a charismatic, confident creative.

(We're all about alliteration). You're in the business of people and you know what to say, to whom, and how. You exude confidence in your writing and speech and you make us go “wow.” You know what this means and you're a good fit. Shoot us your resume, your cover, and then hit submit.

Beyond the fact that we occupy multiple floors in high-rise buildings in New Haven and Portland, we're a pretty flat organization. In prior careers we worked in higher education, events management, finance, government, the arts. We worked in teams. We worked for ourselves. These experiences allow us each to contribute in unique ways as part of a cohesive team all working toward the same goal.

We're not going to say that this company allows you to “choose your own adventure.” But, we're also not not going to say that. Have an interest in marketing? Join the team. Want to write RFPs? Do it. Excel at coding? Give development a shot. Technolutions is a company in a consistent, rapid stage of growth. We go where we're needed, when we're needed, and we're okay with that. Every day is different and we ride the current.

We've seen exponential growth year-over-year and we've got the processes in place to continue to scale. We're selective and we need to be to continue to create the efficiencies that have brought us to where we are today. Our reputation precedes us and we are the preeminent technology solution for higher education admissions offices. We're already in the Cloud, but we're still looking up.

If you haven't come to the conclusion based on everything we've outlined so far, there's not a typical day at Technolutions. You could choose to spend an hour solving requests in the service desk, then jump on a focused call to discuss event structures and best practices with a nationally recognized institution. Your afternoon might start with a partner check-in call and then round out with an internal meeting on how we can build better training resources for both our team and our partners. You'd likely sprinkle in a trip or two to the espresso machine or a team walk for lunch.

While we can't promise a typical day in the office, we can promise that once you've left for the day, you're gone. We don't expect you to answer requests at night or hold calls with partners outside of your normal working hours. We won't text you at 2am or break up dinner with your family. We know what's important and we strive to help our team strike that balance. We do work hard. But, we do so efficiently because we know you have other parts of your life that require just as much attention as you give when you're here.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for applicants who resonate with this kind of job description.
