Intended Audience

The Fundamentals of Slate courses are for staff who are building the database. This can include:

· Captains for new Slate databases who are just beginning their implementation
· Institution staff who are new to Slate
· Existing Slate users wishing to enhance their skills

Registrants should have a solid understanding of their current business processes. They should have the ability to make decisions about the implementation.

Participants need to commit adequate time for build-out and training. Possible candidates to take these courses include:

· Director of Operations
· Associate or Senior Director
· Admissions / Student Success Coordinator
· Director of Advancement Services
· Director of Alumni Engagement, etc.

Course Access

Users learn at their own pace. Register for a course at any time, and access it for one full year from the date of registration.

Cost

The first three registrants from each institution register for free with a fee waiver. If fee waivers remain, registrants are prompted to apply a registration fee waiver within the form registration.

This registration fee is non-refundable. Course access is non-transferable.

To best understand how to access your data, it’s essential first to understand how your data is categorized and organized in Slate. Slate is a relational database, which means that it stores and provides access to data points that are related to one another. In this course, you will learn how data is Slate is organized and how each type of data point is related.

Creating and Reporting on Dynamic Communications
